Mend Ideal Classic Boiler Gas Engineer Fault

classic fan flued boiler unreliable &cuts out ?

Classic boiler been very reliable but started to cut out having started and have to press reset button to start again. Gas engineer changed many components but fault continues, he is puzzled. Plenty of water, pump runs well, not overheating and fan working when running. Continues after resetting but cuts out after running for an hour or so, any assistance would be helpful please, driving us mad.....

Thanks Ian.... Further info re boiler.... IDEAL STADARD 350 R.D.I. CLASSIC 350 FAN FLUE... will this info assist re possible diagnosis... Just what does the reset switch reset ?

try replacing the boiler stat or potentiometer & sensor harness depending which model you have. could be a faulty overheat stat.
