Craftsman LT 1000 with belt off?

I am staying with a friend who has a Craftsman LT 1000 with a belt that has slipped off. I have no manual, so no clue how to put the belt on. Looking in the side doesn't give me any clue. I need to mow his huge lawn and he is out of town. Can anyone help?
It is Model # 917.271652. It is a 17I/C.

I have checked the Sears site to no use.
