We had the same problem with our washer. Slightly different model, but still the same problem. I'm assuming it's still attempting to turn by the noises it makes if it does then it could be something to do with the belt (which is what I got told by the engineer when describing the problem) or what had happened in our case is that the 'spider' had snapped at the base. We just replaced the spider ourselves which cost about £25. Hope this helps.
