Mend Peugeot Motor Working Check

Checking rear wiper motor Peugeot 206sw?

My rear wiper was stopped working. Fuse is OK so I want to check the volts on the wiper motor and the parking switch. How do I remove the motor? There is a plastic housing with a single screw. Removed the screw but housing does not come away. How it it held in place?

Under the plastic cover over the wiper motor are 3 wires attached to the screen, 2 are black and one is red. Using a test meter locate the black one that connects with the black conductive earth plated onto the screen. The black stuff peeling off is the problem. Now at the bottom of the window [when the rear window is open] is a rubber sheath coming from the top of the rear door to the open rear window. This has some tape round it which when unwrapped has a bundle of wires including a black one thicker than the others. The way to get the wiper working is to connect this black wire with the other black wire that you identified as connecting with the black paint on the window. You are in effect replacing the black conductive paint which has partly peeled off, with a solid wire. I used a pair of chock-block connectors and just taped the wire round the edge of the window. It now works fine.

There is a black surround painted onto the inside of the windscreen glass that is silvered underneath and is a conductor of electricity to the wiper motor. I think it is just an earth, but I could be wrong. On the 206SW this cracks and/or peels off, and then there is no power to the wiper motor. The only apparent answer is to replace the windscreen glass which costs about £360 plus fitting. When mine had the black conductive pain peeling off, I painted the missing areas with conductive silver paint from Maplins, and it worked for a short while. I will either do it again and better, or I will tape a wire onto the inside of the glass, connected at one end to the earth wire that goes to the wiper motor, and the other end to the earth wire in the rubber sheath that exits the car body near the windscreen hinge. That should work if I can find the correct wires.

Ok, I found the answer, thanks to an AA man. The plastic cover just pulls off. Remove the one screw and pull! Try pushing the sides in a little and pull.

I would appreciate any help on what to do next. Want to check if the motor is good and if the parking switch is good.
