There is a black surround painted onto the inside of the windscreen glass that is silvered underneath and is a conductor of electricity to the wiper motor. I think it is just an earth, but I could be wrong. On the 206SW this cracks and/or peels off, and then there is no power to the wiper motor. The only apparent answer is to replace the windscreen glass which costs about £360 plus fitting. When mine had the black conductive pain peeling off, I painted the missing areas with conductive silver paint from Maplins, and it worked for a short while. I will either do it again and better, or I will tape a wire onto the inside of the glass, connected at one end to the earth wire that goes to the wiper motor, and the other end to the earth wire in the rubber sheath that exits the car body near the windscreen hinge. That should work if I can find the correct wires.
