what does "engine e mobilizer" mean?

our c5 doesn't start and the message regarding "engine emobilizer" appears

it means that the immobiliser does not recognise the key turn the ignition on but do not try and start the engine leave for about 3 mins and then try and start the engine this should reprogramme the key to the immobiliser if this fails to work after 2 or 3 attempts then the immobiliser or transponder in the key are faulty
