How Can I Fix My Peugeot 206 Wing Mirrors?

I have a 2001 peugeot 206 in firedance (pearlescent orange). My driver side wing mirror was taped up when I received the car and would like to fix. I currently have the mirror which has a standard plastic finish on the main unit with a painted black or glossy cap (apparently this maybe the GTI model Mirrors.) They are difficult to get hold of however you can buy new caps so I was wondering if it is possible to get a complete standard plastic black one, remove that cap and add on my painted glossy black on?
