Braun 5567U Electric Razor?

i have a Braun 5567U Electric Razor that was Made in Germany and is an older model but has only been used less than 6 times. I bought it for my office and it just hasn't been used much. i have also not charged it for five or six years because i haven't needed it. after i charged it for 24 plus hours, the charge only lasted less than a minute and it died again. i'm sure the battery is trash and i'm willing to invest in a new one.

i called the local Braun authorized service center and the guy told me it might need a new circuit board also.. i can understand that the battery needs replaced but it's a NEW razor (albeit Old in age) and i doubt highly the circuit board is damaged or bad.

what do you think? what is a fair price for battery replacement?

This razor has come apart and I need to figure out how it goes back together. Is there a diagram of the inside of this razor so I can see how it's supposed to go? Thanks.

Any secrets to removing the plastic caps on the bottom? I can't even get them off so I can get to the phillips head screws.

Would be nice if the guys who HAVE replaced the batteries successfully would quote the type/model of battery. The razor is 12-240V, 4.5 W, but what voltage/capacity is the battery? I've researched a battery of the exact size, 17mmx28.5mm, a GP 2/3AF NiMH 1.2V 1100mAh, type 100AFH1A1P. It will fit, but is it the right one?

I just replaced my batteries in my 5567u. I got them from the battery barn on line. $ 10.00 including s/h you will have to use a soldering gun take your time it's not bad...

I followed Larry"s instructions, removed plastic caps, than phillips screws. Now at an impass trying to remove the bottom of the case. Nothing seems to move.

Hi, I have this same razor and I replaced the batteries myself. The batteries, if I recall, were about $5.95 a piece from the Battery Barn http://www.batterybarn.com/shaver7.htm. The batteries are soldered onto the circuit board. To get to the circuit board you need to remove two plastic caps on the bottom of the shaver and then remove the phillips head screws. Then remove the bottom part of the shaver to expose the batteries and circuit board. There are two little clear plastic cylinders that side into toward the charge light diodes to magnify them, pull these out gently. Remove the plastic cover over the battery and then gently pull the board out. The batteries are glued to the circuit board. Use an exacto knife to cut under the glue. Then use solder pen to free up each battery's terminal from circuit board. Side new battery terminal through circuit board making sure you have the right polarity, resolder, replace circuit board back into razor. put plastic magnifiers back in place, put plastic cover back in place, put bottom on and tighten screws. Replace plastic caps on bottom.
