Mend Blue Smoke Start

blue smoke from exhaust?

sometimes when I first start the car I get a puff of blue smoke from the exhaust but it does not happen again once it is running a few seconds.

possibly valve stem seals are worn, allowing a slight ammount of oil to enter combustion chamber when engine not running for quite a while. wont be noticeable after initial start-up if this is the problem.on some vehicles they can be changed without removing cyl head!
