Mend AEG D2100-4 Main Fan Cause

my AEG competence main fan oven is overheating what is the cause ?

AEG competence model number D2100-4 electric fanned double oven, main oven is overheating element glowing red hot after 2 minutes of use burns food doesn't seem to respond to setting, is this the element or a thermostat any help would be appreciated my missus is not a happy bunny at the minute
