It sounds like something is binding, sometimes you may have a sock or shirt that will wrap around the gearcase between the wash tub and outer tub, this will cause the unit to have a slow agitation and no spin, you will need a whirlpool spanner wrench to remove the tub block drive nut. Good luck.
