when i switch my escort td 1.8 engine off with the key it continues to run without the key in the ignition the only way to stop it is by stalling. which i fear will be destroying the clutch (and cba changing another clutch) any ideas would be gratefully taken up
hi glenn more than likely to be the fuel shut off solonoid on the diesel pump try lightly tapping with a spanner on the metal body of the solonoid but you will have to replace with a new one kind regards ian

is there not a stop solenoid on top of the diesel pump?.if so pull the connection to it. if it still runs the solenoid is jammed open
