Mend Triton Opal Plumbing Pipe Water

Triton OPal- water comes out of overflow pipe?

My shower stopped mid shower this morning and I noticed water gushing out behind it. On closer inspection there is a transparent outlet pipe behind the actual hose from which water was pouring. Does anyone know what this is, why it is occuring and what I can do to stop it?
