After years of faultless operation the signal icon started flashing and pressing a key returns three beeps. The base unit is connected and appears to recharge the battery. The user guide can't be found so any suggestions as to the fault and rectification would be appreciated.

I re-registered the handset to the base unit and all is well again. How it became de-registered remains a mystery.
