ford transit 04 reg?

hi,just replaced bearing in top of gear selector due to it locking up , it all works as should but i can not get any gears using the gear stick, it will go in gear by hand. is there any way off ajusting the gear cables which go to the selector one blue one grey, i have replaced the blue one.
