Starting Problem Fiat Punto 1.2?

My fiat punto starts fine when cold and runs perfect. When I park it and try to start it a short while later it fires but cuts out again, almost like the spark has died.
I am confident it is not a fule problem as the car will start again and run no problem an hour or so later when it is cooled. There is no indication of the engine overheating etc. Any Ideas ???

im having exactly the same problems on my 1.2 sporting 1998 if anyones got any other ideas why this is happening please let me know

It could be the cars automatic choke system. When the car starts from cold the choke is in, using a bit more fuel to get the car going. When it is warm, it usually doesn't need the choke, because it is already warm enough for the car to re-start and run. Maybe the car is not producing enough spark from the plugs when warm, so its cutting out. When the choke is in it doesn't need so much spark, because there is more fuel floating around the engine. I would advise taking the car to a main dealer and ask there.
