outside light install?

i have taken a spur off the wireing to the light switch in our dining room to feed an outside light with a switch, the outside light is wiered up. i have 6 wires at the new switch the problem is when i connect them up the inside light comes on how do u stop this happening.

When you say "6 wires" are you including the earths? If so you should have taken the feed straight from one fitting to the next, then taken a cable from the fitting to the switch.
