to do with my 79163 storage heater?

hi, i currently leave the room temp dial right down at night and have the overnight charge dial on for an hour and a half , in the daytime i just turn the room temp up to suit.
could some1 please tell me if this is the correct procedure as i do not own a manual and would like to know if this is correct way to save heat effectively and financially. thank you
