Mend Heating Boiler Motor

boiler not firing?

In addition to my first question, I have discovered that the motor on the fan assembly (exraction fan I think) at the top is very very hot. This is after almost 24 hours since the boiler last fired? Could the fan not operating stop the boiler firing?
