toggle switch instalment?

hi, i have a 5000 watt electric generator,10hrse briggs n stratton,the carb was a little dirty,when given to me, but none the less, she wants to start..i grounded one wire, n the other wire looks to be ,an old shut off switch, heres the dilema, i purchased two toggles,both have double prongs beneath... the wire is black ,n exists,near the top front of engine.how do i install it? i have zero skills 4 this project, but want it bad. please some one, break this down n keep it indepth n simple as heck! im on a mission ready to move up on small engine repair bidness,HEEELLPPP!!!!! god speed! asap,! straight away, like ta dow!!! mahalo!
