how can i switch off my alarm?

i have a vaux frontera,x reg,3.2v6,can anyoane tell me how to switch the thing off as it goes off even when ive started the car,now i'd just like to look the car up with central locking,without using the alarm,ive cleaned all the switches amd contacts to no avail,thanks
