CAR WONT START?

My vw golf wont start,it turns over but wont start.Ihad a push start recently and it started but only in high revs once i took my foot slowly off the accelarator it stalled please help.

Yes, if its an old petrol, you could have a blocked carbureta or your fuel pump is tierd out, but the starter moter might have chiped/missing Teeth wich can slow down the prosecc off Ignition, but yeah i think youve got a fuel leak or low fuel pressure in your pump or a blocked carb, but yeah have a look

Sam means well and he probably knows a lot more about cars than I do (which is very little) but.... If the engine turns over then the starter motor must be working.

If it needs lots of throttle to keep it running then that suggests lack of fuel - I'm sure cars have a fliter in the fuel line - and a fuel pump in the tank is the modern trend I believe.

I suspect fuel starvation of some sort.

And Sam's right - you could at least say if it's petrol or diesel - age, engine, condition of battery etc.

to be honest thats not a lot of information, your problem starting could be Anythink, pearsonly from what youve said sounds like a starter moter, but you should add more detail eg does it make noise when you turn it over, stuff like that
