how can I fix my talon cahinsaw model ac310114-35?

I have rescued a talon chain saw that someone hit the ground with .The motor is virtually brand new but the post on the end of the drive shaft that the end plate bolts on to to hold the clutch assembly in position appears to have sheared off ( I still have the piece ),was it originally a piece welded on or is it a one piece assembly?
