dimplex cxt 24 ?

i have tested power to the unit and its fine but it goes through the stat to the manual reset cutout and no power comes from that. if its just a case of reseting it how do i do that it looks like its always touching so i didnt even bother doing a continuity test. if this resolves it would there be something else wrong that caused it to cut out in the first place?? wiring all looked fine inside and had same resistance between the element on each element?? please help
