Mend Kenmore 80 Washer Spin

Kenmore Series 80 Washer Fills Up But Won't Rotate or Spin?

I took the back off the washer looking for a way to clean out the nasty smell. I put it back kinda flimsily since it was such a pain to put all those clips and hooks back. I run a load, it fills but I come back and it won't rotate and no dial setting will get any reaction from the machine. Any advice on how to get it running again?

Remove the two end caps and then remove the two screws lift up control panel and ensure that the lid switch connector is attached properly also check all of your other connections, remove the two clips using a flat blade screw drive, remove cabinet and check wire harness for proper connection. Ensure that lid switch is not broken (you should hear a click when the lid is closed). Good luck.
