engine problems?

can anyone help. we have a pug 206 gti 2.0. the head gaskit and cam belt went last year so we had it all repaired. but after that there was a noise like the fan belt was slipping so we had that done to but that was not the problem. so we had the pullies replaced but still no joy. we been told that the engine has been knocked out of line. so was wondering how we go about getting it fixed without someone ripping me arms and legs off
