Mend Up Pumps Out

Van revs up on its own and smoke pumps out?

I recently got the van serviced, new timing belt, oil and filters ETC, I thought this might cure the problem but on occasion it revs up for no reason, there is a rattle like tappets or cam shaft and smoke pumps out the back like a steam train.

i had a customer who brought a ssangyong musso 2.9 diesel this happend to it revved up poured white smoke out it was down to them overfilling the oil check your levels

could be the electronics related to the pump(if it's the electronic type).or erratic pump timing or cold start(temp sensor)
