VAUXHALL VECTRA 99 WITH REMOTE BROCKEN AND ALARM GOING OFF EVERY TIME DOOR ?

i HAVE A REMOTE kEY FOB WHICH DOES NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK ANY DOORS BUT LED INDICATOR ILLUMINATES WHEN BUTTON IS PUSHED. i HAVE REPLACED BATTERIES WITH SEVERAL DIFFERENT TYPES AND CHECKED FUSES WITH NO APPARENT PROBLEMS
IS THERE A WAY TO DISCONNECT THE ALARM AND STILL HAVE THE CENTRAL LOCKING WORKING WITH THE KEY OR WHERE CAN I GET A NEW REMOTE FOB CHEAP THANKS

Get in car, close door.
Put key in ignition, turn ignition on ( dash lights on, do not start engine).
Push button on remote, doors should lock then unlock.
Remote should now work as normal.
