Peugot 406 S plate 1.9 diesel. Fumes leaking from the side of the injectors in the head between the body of the injector and the aperture that they fit in. What is the possible cause and how difficult will the repair be?
between injector and cyl head are sealing washers, you will need to remove injectors ,discard washers [there may be 2 a small one and a large copper one] clean mating surfaces,fit new washers, tighten to correct torque-not sure if common rail but to be sure make sure you fit injector in original cylinder and DONT CLEAN TIP OF INJECTOR there are very fine holes that could get blocked etc,
