The condensation drain pipe on the outside of the house was frozen solid, we poured hot water over the pipe until it was cleared, but we still could not fire up the boiler. We then put a convector heater near the boiler for a few hours and thankfully the boiler came back to life, what a relief.

pour boiling water over the condensation drain pipe - outside of house- drains into grid usually - tends to freeze up in exceptionally long cold periods - it might take a couple of kettle fulls- press the reset button and hopefully it will fire up.
