Black navigation screen & radio in Peugeot 807ST?

Can anyone advise how to troubleshoot & repair a Peugeot 807 Radio. The navigation screen went black and no functions are working, i.e. the navigation, radio & CD, phone etc.
The local Peugout dealership made a check and concluded quite rapidly to just replace the unit. Still the price for a new radio is far to expensive!
