kubota front axel not engaing l295dt?

my used 4 wheel drive kubota l295dt is in great shape other than front axel will not engage

The drive to the front axle may be disconnected as it is held in place by a nail. Check under the engine to see if it turns when engaged. If it turns replace the nail and your good to go. If it doesnt jack the front up and turn the wheel to see if everything is turning (connected). Do not go into the gearbox thinking it will be an easy job because it wont. They are quite complicated inside.
