Had this problem with rapid red flashing light under the tap icon, turned out to be dead blue tit stuck in the air flume.

Problem I've had gives slow flashing light and has been caused by failed fan control relays on control board. Now have spare boards with relays replaced. Problem comes back approx every 2 years. Would appear that fan load current too high for rating of relay. Haven't got round to replacing fan yet, probably just replace boiler at some point.

I have followed the exact process for fault finding, using servicing instructions. Test E was the one followed for 4 flashes per second.
went through the process ... bought a new air pressure switch, then a fan and then a new control board, still nothing .. checked my method, results etc with an electrician today, he also checked the various parts for correct ohms etc. and
talked to the installer.

Tried a new code plug today, no use.

Apparently many installers have said that the Worcester 28si combi boiler was very poor quality as its control board is not fit for purpose. Way too many circuit boards (the most complex part of the system) go faulty.
I spoke to 2 installers and viewed many different links on the web about this heating system. Not reliable!
So now that I've spent about £300 pounds for nothing.
It the main board goes faulty .. its basically can tell you falsely that certain parts might need changed. But this is futile if ITS faulty. It just makes lots of money for spare parts business.

I try to fix what I can, and have been quite successful over the years. A can usually avoid calling anyone out. Like most maintenance folk, they arrive, look, humm a bit, guess some of the time, and try a few bits but are expected to 'KNOW' exactly what is wrong with it! Systems that are increasingly complex will have more faults and will have to be 'fixed' by a select 'rich' few.

We ALL just need basic (not fancy pants), get the job done things!
Now I'm left with the choice, call someone out and pay them lots of money to do the above, whilst I sit on the phone asking for a second mortgage or look to buy a new system .. but then end up with the problem of which new system will ACTUALLY be any good.

They ALL claim their systems are the best .. the most reliable /... but we have NO come back at all after the guarantee expires, which should be much longer and not very short and a long term expensive contract to repair it because its EXPECTED to fail shortly after the guarantee expires!!!!
Ridiculous situations appear to be increasing quite fast lately, over complex, fancy pants, .... zzz plz wake up Britain

many folk appear to have this very problem, but the '99% of the time' answer is get someone in to give them a disgusing amount of money for 5 mins work.
But the UK seems quite happy to embrace this 'normal' practice. Hugely over complex equipment/gadgets, that are now MADE (directly or indirectly) to collapse not long after your right to address expires.
I have alot of experience from window locks, fridges, security equipment ... its all the same. We should not have pay a massive amount for reliable 'x'. All I want is some hot water, not to fly to the moon.
British /// .. we are now riding on our 'past'. Very poor standards all round, becaus e business is killing each other, greed. A system that is out of human control, the paperwork profit engine has taken over ... time to WAKE up from your imagination ladies and gentlemen :)

Did you find a solution for this, as I have the same problem. Seems to be an airflow fault, but can't work out what needs fixed.
