Mend Toyota Rav4 Going Changed Model

Toyota Rav4. How do I stop car alarm going off after I changed battery?

Ever since I changed my car battery on my Toyota Rav4 P reg 1996 model, the alarm keeps going off. I can only stop this by using the key to lock/unlock the doors, this means the alarm is not in use.
