Mend Light Flashing Year

Light keeps flashing and beeping continuous and blades won't warm up?

My straightener has suddenly after a year when you turn them on beep and flash continuously and the blades don't warm up.

Mine (genuine) do this when it's cold in the house. When i warm them up next to a radiator or the fire for a few minutes they work fine.

Sounds like GHDs? There are unfortunately MANY fake GHDs out there. firstly check the hologram code with GHD website or number on the plug lead...is it a genuine set? If not...try to get your money back if your gift has a receipt. One other way to tell if fake is to look at wee booklet...are there any silly spelling errors or do words 'run' togetherlike this? Best to try to take back to store...if they are not e-Bay fakes. Good luck!
