Hello Steven,
You may have already sorted this problem out, the 466 model was an absolute pain for bobbin cases, they changed from a metal bobbin case to a plastic bobbin case known as apollo,
the early models did not have a holding finger fitter, this did not come until later, the later 466 has a holding finger which is adjusted for the thickness of thread and to hold the case in, if you have the old 466 without the finger you need to put the bobbin case in and just push it to the left as far as it will go and notice the witdth of the gap where the thread passes through, it should be no more than the thickness of the thread that you are using and keep in mind these machines were designed to use Sylko number 50.and 60, sometimes you can get away with 40 Sylko, if the gap is too wide you will need to slacken off the two screws on the right hand adjuster and move the metal plate either in or out, if you have the grey bobbin case make sure everything is smooth on it, if you can order a new one which is the black type from www.tandtrepair.com
