Please advise whether I have to change the PCB on a Hotpoint WD61?

The machine washes correctly.
It spins correctly
BUT on tumble dry it rotates the drum correctly and heats the content correctly BUT it also puts in a fair volume of water resulting in hot wet clothes. in the drum.
As the pump is clearly operating and there are no apparent blockages I am concluding that the control board is doing a rinse at the same time as a tumble dry. Is this conclusion anywhere near accurate please??? If so please advise an answer or alternative cause of the fault.
