Diplomat dishwasher tablet flap doesn't open?

Hi all, we have an integral Diplomat dishwasher. All of a sudden the small plastic flap that you put a cleaning tablet in doesn't open during a wash cycle. It's nice and clean and seems fine otherwise. It would seem that a small rotating piece of plastic should release the flap but it doesn't. The machine works perfectly apart from this. Any advice appreciated.
