I have just changed the battery on my 1995 mercedes C180 and now the coolant light on the dash is staying on .Help

First check that your windscreen washer reservoir is topped up as I believe that the same warning lamp is used for both coolant and washer fluid levels.

If both levels are OK, then try unplugging the sensor when the lamp is glowing. If it goes out the sensor will be in need of replacement.
