Problems with Potterton Boiler?

the condensation trap on the one side fills up to the top the boiler then stops and goes into red fast flashing mode if I take the tank off and drain it also wash it out the boiler will then work for about a week the stop again

re. the Promax FSB 30 HE, a difficult one to deal
with, lots of hand tearing metal edges not properly
finished. To put right a cutout problem I had, found the sensor lead at the probe end had come away inside the insulator [not visable] a gentle tug revealed a corroded end to the wire, removed a10mm of insulation pushed the new end back to the insulator sleeve and presto. 'Fixed' No local Plumber/Heating humanoid was interested just
did not return calls, I retired from the trade

e42 is a control panel error and, if restarting the unit doesn't fix it, you need the control panel replacing PLUS 2 other parts due to compatibility issues.
I have the same issue, and would like to know if Potterton DID fix yours for just £289 as the control panel part alone should cost around £600...
