Sony KDF-50e2010 red bar the at top of screen, faint green at the bottom?

Hi..I bought the tv second hand with a blown bulb from a friend, i replaced the bulb and the tv came on no problem, but i then noticed a red bar about 3 inches down, running all the way across, and only today have i noticed a green bar appearing at the bottom, only when certain colours are on the screen, I have read other posts from people having a similar problem, i only payed £50 for the tv and £100 for a bulb, i just need to know wether its worth continuing repairing it? I told my friend about this and he forgot to mention it to me,(nice of him), i cant send the bulb back so im stuck in the middle. Ive read that SONY can repair it but only if its 2 years old, the tv was purchased in Jan 2007, its shocking that there is this same problem people are having when the tv is roughly the same age,but you only get a short amount of time to sort it, can it be opened and cleaned, is there a simple fix or full part repair? Any advice would be appreciated..thanks
