Mend GE JEM357 Housing Replace Broken

broke the housing replacing a light bulb?

I broke a piece off the housing for the light bulb on a ge spacemaker. Can i still use the socket? If not can I not put a bulb in that socket and still use the light on the other side....thanks Chris
