How to replace the fan on my Kirby generation 3 vacume?

Unclip handle from pivot assembly. Remove plastic switch pedal cover (it prys off). Top metal cover has 2 screws in the back, 2 in the front. Front cover has 4 or 5 screws. It will probably has silicone sealing it down. Tap with screwdriver handle on the back to loosen it. You may need a small open end wrench to hold the armature in place (near the rear end of the motor) while you loosen the motor belt spindle. The spindle is reverse thread.
