Can the door to a Maytag microwave be disassembled?

I think it may be time to replace the whole thing.
Our identical Maytag 1450 Watts (do they make them with that power anymore?) got a loose handle about 2 weeks ago. Yesterday we got a buzzing noise and a strange smell. We think the magnetron thingy is kaput.

I have the same problem with our Model CMV 1000 so it seems like it is related to a poor design by Maytag.

Let me know if you get a good answer. (There is a screw on the inside of the handle which I thought held the plastic cover on the handle, but there is no clearance to use a screw driver on it. So I assumed it had to be tight before the handle was installed.)
