I bought 2 IBM thinkpad 600 system boards when my first one went faulty. However when I boot I get the error 163,192, 173. But of course when I set the time the 163,173 goes away. I still have the error 192. I have replaced the fan 3 times, due error 192 meaning fan error. I have tested my CMOS battery using a meter, and am getting the correct volatage that is required to run the thinkpad.. Replacing the system board, is unknown to have been correct for the computers were used and untested, but the fan is known to be new. The CMOS battery isn't dead. The computer will boot to the BIOS and passes all the test excpet the system board where i get this message

I really love this computer and just want to get it up and running. How can i fix this computer I have tried everything i can think of.

I get this message all the time with mine. Usually replacing the Cmos battery fixes it. When that doesn't work I usually take all the easily removable parts out (the battery and drives) and put then back in to resecure connections and turn it on and let it run the test. Just keep turning it on and off after that (no test) about 6 times and it will suddenly start. Then the computer runs for about 6 months of daily use and then I have to do it all again. I know this isn't very scientific but it always works every time for me.

There is a reset switch, just under and to the left of the on/off switch.
Here's what the manual says: "The Reset switch resets the system (regardless of the microcode status) and forces the power off. Use this push button to power off when power is not completely off or the microcode is in a hung state."
From what this says, I think I would turn on the computer and get to that "stuck" state, and then take a poke at the reset switch to "power off", and then try to reboot again, pressing F1.
