Mend Kleenmaid Valve Water Solenoid

Kleenmaid 10 Yrs old Inlet valve wont open?

As far as i can work out,the water inlet valve has a Solenoid valve and a water overfill gravity switch that has a reservoir that activates it. i have replaced the valve but the old prob came back when the plastic reservoir filled.if i empty the reservoir the DW works again for a couple of loads......what needs to be done to fix it? thanks...
