Accenta G4 setup?

After installing this unit which seemed to go ok and in the Engineers mode it appears to sound the alarm, operate the strobe etc, but on trying to get back to user mode, so I can actually use the alarm, all I get is 'Tamper Fault Lockout' on the LCD panel - which seems to only respond to the Engineers code. Evidently the method to get back to user / Day mode is my problem, tried reset, and others but just get back to the Tamper Fault Lockout. The manual appears to make a habit of unecessarily making things difficult. Any help would be appreciated.
