WHY DOES MY KETTLE CRACKLE AND CACKLE?

WHY DOES MY DOMED SHAPED KETTLE CRACKLE AND CACKLE WHEN SWITCHED ON.? THIS OIS SECOND DOMED KETTLE TO DO THIS I HAVE TRIED IT IN VARIOUS SOCKETS AND EVEN TAKEN IT WALES AND TRIED IT THERE AND IT STILL CRACLES AND CACKLES.

I have had same problem with all kettles. I think it depends on area where you live and your water content supply. If you see scale build up on base inside kettle then you need to descale it. I bought a new kettle 7 weeks ago and have had to descale it twice already. Noise gone each time. I blame the water supply yet we are in a soft water area. My Mum who stayed in a different area never had a noisy kettle.

If the noise is coming from the plug then there is a severe safety issue...but if its from inside the kettle itself its probably just water locally boiling around the heating element.
