Thompson Top Up TV Recorder ?

Remove mains lead from back of machine.
After one minute keep pressing the on/off switch on front of machine, (don't use the remote!!) and while doing this replace the mains lead.(An assistant could be useful here).
As soon as any light shows, stop switching on/off and press the
up down left right
arrows rapidly in that order (not the order they appear on the machine).
Wait for about a minute and the orange light should be replaced by red and the machine fixed.
If not, do the whole thing again - the operation needs to be carried out as fast as possible, hesitating will cause failure.
I've fixed both of my machines this way, but needed more than one attempt for each of them, so don't give up easily. Best of luck, Mike A.
