how can i fix heater and air in my 1991 ford thunderbird lx,,,it got shorted out,,two wires touched together,smoke came out of the dash,fuses are good

Check the coolant level (water/anti freeze) in your car.
In many cars if this is low the car heater will not function correctly

open the bonnet and follow the heater pipes you will come accross an electricaly operated valve that lets the hot water into the heater system messing about with it may get it to work but I would get a new one £30ish very simple to replace make sure you have power to it and no fuses are gone first hope this helps
