Mend Singer 457 Not Pull Up

Singer 457 bobbin thread will not pull up?

I have a Singer 457. When I have the machine threaded and the bobbin in, I'm rolling the needle down to pull up the bobbin thread, but it will not pull up.

Hello Mary,
Providing you have the needle in the correct way then you may have to retime the machine, I can attach timing instructions if you email me, type in my address as you say it and not as you reads it because this site does not allow email addresses to be shown.
